
It's Nice up North! Tonight is one of those nights when I could have actually gone out, but the advertising of this event was fairly poor, and I only heard about it yesterday, which was too late. Sorry if you're reading this Graham - I would have come honest ! It's a showing of Graham Fellows and Martin Parr's film "It's Nice up North!" in a local theatre. It's a spoof documentary featuring Fellows' wonderful comic creation John Shuttleworth from 'Sheffield, South Yorkshire'. I've seen him many times over the years, and am also a fan of his other creation Brian Appleton. I remember a famous show in Norwich where several members of the audience had thought he really was a 'versatile singer songwriter', and when he was doing his performance some people asked us "excuse me, but why are you laughing ?"
