In a slightly recursive way, this blog post is a blog post about a blog post which features me and my blog posts... and also my new post... Thanks to Ollie Bray for his kind words on his blog about my new job, and the "new vision" On the Single Malt front, my bottle of Ardbeg Correyvreckan has been delayed, but I hope to get hold of it soon: perhaps in time for some celebratory drams. I'll bring the last bit up to the SLF, Ollie. Just back from a quick trip down to Rochester and the Royal Naval Dockyards at Chatham, where I went with fellow "Pie Society" colleagues today. The weather was kind - thanks to "the Major" for driving the landship down... Caught up with some nice ales from the NELSON BREWERY . I like the tagline: "England expects every man to drink our beer"... Here's a few piccies from the day... Update: Ardbeg arrived safely...

It's official, so I can tell everyone now... This was me at the Advanced Google Earth day put on by Jamie Buchanan Dunlop at the RGS-IBG yesterday. Thanks to Yvonne, my partner for the day ... Any idea what's going on here ? Answer to come shortly...

The GA have relaunched their " Geography " journal with a new editorial collective (I was present at the launch at the GA Conference - there was free wine !) and the first of the new issues was Spring 2008. Several of the articles in this issue (which was sent free to all GA subscribers) have obvious links to the new AS which am in the midst of preparing for, and have also been reading a few other sections in preparation for an event at the end of the week I'm involved in... Summer 2008's issue promises several articles on Risk and the Lisbon Earthquake (World at Risk), Slope Failures, plus a look at Climate Change and the Summer 2007 floods (also World at Risk) One to watch (and read) Some sample articles are available for non-GA members
Today Programme New Years Day Just a reminder about this programme. There is a list of some of the ideas that are to be covered on the GA WEBSITE . Also a good story here about Ollie Bray's journey home . Anyone else caught up in the fog ?
